Niagara Waterfalls (Montenegro)

The “Niagara Waterfalls” in Montenegro (locally often called Nijagarini vodopadi) are located on the Cijevna River very close to Podgorica, near Rakića Kuće/Tuzi – ideal for a short detour from the city.
The water plunges over a broad rock ledge in several cascades, creating tranquil stretches of river below – perfect for photos and a short break by the water.
The waterfall is most impressive in spring or after rainfall, when the Cijevna is carrying plenty of water.
In midsummer, however, the waterfall may be considerably weaker or even dry up (temporarily) – something to bear in mind when planning your visit.
