Stockhorn – Hinterstockensee and Oberstockensee

The extended running loop to the Chrindi Restaurant becomes a really beautiful “lake double” in the Stockhorn area: From the Chrindi middle station, you first run towards Hinterstockensee, with familiar highlights such as footbridges and short tunnels along the way. Then the route extends across to Oberstockensee, where a circular trail runs almost continuously close to the water and repeatedly opens up perfect photo opportunities of the Simmental peaks. The adventure trail is also a useful guide here: it connects the two mountain lakes (Ober- and Hinterstockensee) in one loop and provides insights into the natural environment along the way – ideal if you are travelling with family or slower hikers.

Depending on the route chosen, the short Chrindi loop becomes a considerably longer but still highly rewarding trail combination (ideally in dry conditions and with shoes featuring good tread).

At the end, a reward awaits you right at the middle station: the Chrindi Restaurant serves snacks and simple dishes – the Zvieriplättli and desserts on the terrace with a view are especially popular.
